A Heart for His People

Benjamin Menga has grown up immersed in the mission. As the son of Gregor and Kela Menga — artists, educators, and missionaries who have given their lives to reaching the Albanian Muslim world — he has been a faithful presence at the Shift Center since the beginning.

A classically trained violinist, Benjamin has contributed to the work alongside his parents for years. Now he is stepping fully into missionary life — raising his own support and carrying the family's calling into the next generation.

Benjamin needs $1,000 per month (or $12,000 annually) to serve full-time. He is currently only at 10% of his goal, and he needs partners who believe in this work to come alongside him.

"Benjamin is now stepping fully into missionary life — raising his own support and carrying the family's calling into the next generation."

A Family on Mission

Gregor and Kela Menga are artists, educators, and missionaries who have given their lives to reaching the Albanian Muslim world. Gregor grew up in communist Albania, came to faith as a refugee in Greece, and felt an undeniable call to return to his people.

Ten years ago, that call brought them to Tetovë, North Macedonia — where the Shift Center was born. Together, they build relationships, create art, and open doors for the Gospel in a community where traditional ministry simply wouldn't work.

Prior to relocating to North Macedonia, they started and pastored two churches in Albania and Kosovo that are still thriving today.

The Menga sons have grown up immersed in the mission. Samuel has been a faithful presence at the Shift Center. Benjamin is now stepping fully into missionary life. Their oldest brother Joseph is married and lives in the United States where he is an expert piano teacher and composer.

The Shift Center

A fellowship and community center in Tetovë, North Macedonia, reaching Albanian Muslims through arts, education, and authentic relationships.

The Shift Center building in Tetovë

Because the words "Church" and "Christian" carry negative connotations in this culture, the Shift Center engages the community through what it loves — music, theater, philosophy, and shared Albanian history — creating a space where trust is built and the Gospel can be shared.

Year-round programming includes music lessons, philosophy nights, English courses, children's creative camps, piano concerts, women's book study groups, Easter and Christmas celebrations, and special guest events.

Tetovë, North Macedonia

A small, landlocked nation in the Western Balkans. Albanians make up roughly 30% of the population, concentrated in the western region where the Shift Center is located. The nearly all identify as Muslim — a heritage rooted in centuries of Ottoman rule.

Why Arts & Culture?

Where traditional ministry faces closed doors, the arts open them. Making trust-based relationships the essential first step toward any meaningful spiritual conversation. Every program is a deliberate touchpoint designed to open doors nothing else can.
